A small act of "Pay it forward"....

As I was unloading my buggy of groceries and kids at Wal-mart today, a woman came up to me. She said that she makes it a point to everyday do something nice for a stranger. She asked if she could take my buggy back inside for me since she said it seemed I had my hands full. Now mind you, I have done this before, but usually when I needed the buggy anyway. Which was not the case because this was one of those huge buggies with the attachment on the front for kids to sit in. NO ONE in their right mind would push these unless they had too. By "had too" I mean screaming kids saying "NOOOOOOO MOMMY, I WANT THAT BUGGY". You then give in because it's just not worth the fight. This lady took my buggy from the back of Wal-mart parking lot all the way to the front, put it in line, and then got her own buggy. Even Austin was impressed. He kept saying "wow mommy, that lady sure was nice". I told him that yes she was very nice. He then preceded to say "I think I will make her my girl, but I just don't know how old she is"!! LOL. What this had to do with the situation, only he knows. Anyway just thought I would post this because it really made me think about what she said about helping strangers. And even though it was a simple act it really did help me out a great deal!!! What a great thing to aspire to do everyday. Maybe I'll give it a try!!!

Camping....

We went camping this past weekend for the first time. We had an awesome time. When we got there the kids could not wait to jump in the water, clothes and all!!! Our campsite was great, right on the water. We had our own little private swimming hole, where we stayed almost the whole weekend. The first night there was a crazy thunderstorm with monsoon type rain and bad lightning. We hunkered down in our tent that, remarkably, did not leak. The kids were not phased at all. Abby fell asleep in the middle of it and Austin thought it was really cool. We cooked smores over our campfire, which Austin loved. Abby just loved to eat them. We had a blast and can't wait to go again!!!!!!

Pool time....

They are all smiles......

See ya soon....

Abby just started saying this one afternoon....very cute!!! I believe it is her first sentence!

New Kids On The Block....

Brittany, Cristal and I went to the NKOTB concert last week. We were probably around 10 years old when they were popular, but time sure didn't stop us (and everyone else at the concert) from remembering every word to their songs. We jammed all the way to the concert while relying on Mrs. Garmen to get us lost three times. She eventually came through and got us safely to the concert, where we then walked 1/2 mile to reach the Amphitheater. Luckily the downpour did not start until we were standing in line to enter the concert. Hence the ponchos.....
We were able to swipe other's seats who hadn't shown up yet and stay dry for the opening acts. We eventually got booted by the ticket police before the main show and had to move to someone else's seats. They weren't great, but if we leaned forward over the seats in front of us, only our backs and bottoms got soaked. That is how we spent the remainder of the evening. Good times!!!! The video below isn't the greatest, but if you follow the hands waving you can catch the Oh Oh Oh Ohhhhh Oh.....Hangin Tough!!!!

Our day on the lake....

BBQ with the Fam...

Bath time....

Now that Abby is big enough to sit still in the bathtub without trying to run all over the place, her and Austin have been taking baths together. Needless to say, they LOVE it.

Family Time....

We have started spending a good many nights out in our driveway. Austin loves riding his bike and Abby loves to chase him. Austin can't get enough of Jon chasing him!
One of the kids favorite things to do is to run after each other with the strollers. Another is for Austin to push Abby in the stroller or to pull her in the wagon. It's fun to sit back and watch them play! Good times....good times!!
